Fosse. The
story
takes place in the cabaret
of the 30's. Sally Bowles is
a singer at
the Kit Kat Club, who
meets
Brian. Brian is
an
Englishman
who came in Germany to
improve his german. They fell
in
love. Before
being a film it was a musical comedy, starring
Jill Haworth the main character and Joel Grey the master of
ceremonies. The
story of “Sally Bowles” is one of the six short stories from
Goodbye
to Berlin
written by Christopher Isherwood. After
he stayed in Berlin, he created the characters after the people he
met there. The novel was
published in 1939. The film was inspired by the
musical comedy, itself
adapted
from
play I
am
a Camera by
the
playwriter
John
Van
Druten in 1951.
