Dear
Mr Belt,
My
name is Jade Carl and I am a young American actress. I’m writing to
you because I would like to play in a movie about vampires.
I
like fantastic movies with vampires, but I would like to see less
stereotypes. The most stereotypical roles are for women' and it shows
a bad image. Most of vampires are men and women are always the
victims, just like in the novel Dracula.
I disagree with most vampire movies because women are represented as
weak, fearful and stupid whereas men are represented as strong, brave
and intelligent. Dracula
isn't a perfect example because the story was written in the 19th
century and women were seen like this. Women fought for their rights
and today, they are equal to men. I think it would be a good idea to
represent it in a film. A movie with a main female character would be
original. It could help young girls to gain self-confidence and
assert themselves. People want to see new things; they are fed up
with male vampires. There are not many films about female vampires.
Our film could break the record of history of cinema and could be a
huge financial success for you.
I
am writing to you because you are a famous director and I think you
can help the fight for gender equality. There is more and more
feminism and I'm sure that an original movie with a morality could
help promote the fight for equality. Thank you for taking the time to
read my letter.
Yours
sincerely,
Jade

Dear
Luc Besson,
I
am Olivia Winslet, a young film director. My sister is the famous
actress who plays in Titanic,
Kate Winslet. I already have some experience in the cinema, more
specifically in short films called «courts-métrages » in France
and I have now a new project which is to create my first film
entitled The Vampire’s Family.
Thanks to my sister I know some famous actors like Leonardo DiCaprio,
who is loved by all. I talked to him about my film scenario. He would
be my main actor and he is very interested by the project because
it’s a new type of film for him. So I was wondering if you would
accept to take part in my film; to fund it. Moreover, my sister knows
many people in several countries so that I already know wonderful
places in vampire’s theme where I could shoot my film for little
money. You can trust me about my project, I will not disappoint you.
I
hope you will accept my request and give me the opportunity to send
you the script of the film.
Sincerely
yours,
Olivia

Dear
Mr Bonnaud,
I
am an English student in literature, and I have just visited your
exhibition. I wanted you to know what I thought of it because some
things are good but some things could be improved.
First
of all I enjoyed this exhibition: it was indeed really great to see
the Vampire through time and especially in the cinema. It was well
organized; there was a kind of theme, that is to say the evolution of
vampire through the time and I liked it - it’s a very simple idea
but it works well : the more you go into the exhibition the more you
want to know about the vampire. The objects, the extracts and
especially the costumes were well chosen, for example at the
beginning with Nosferatu and the presentation of the origins of the
Vampire, or even the room with the costume of the Dracula
by Francis Ford Coppola. There are a lot of details like drawings,
posters, small objects, even the “dark” ambiance of the
exhibition reinforces the aspect of the vampire.
But
you could improve
a bit more the exhibition to make it more entertaining and pedagogic.
This would help the visitors feel a bit more involved and les
passive. That’s why you may find it interesting to organize some
mini games or other activities that would involve the visitors, but
those things must be pedagogic for them to learn things and not only
to have fun - this aspect could make the exhibition look more
interactive and less repetitive. During the exhibition I felt really
guided and though it isn’t really a bad thing for some people, I
would have preferred some liberty. I like discovering by myself and
for the Vampire it could be something very good to try.
Yours
faithfully,
Dylan.

Dear
family,
Are
you all right? I just arrived in the capital of France and I would
like to thank you one more time about your present for my 600th
birthday! I really enjoy it even if some things are strange but l
will talk about that later… So I left you at the beginning of the
week to go to Paris ! I went by myself in my carriage but that was
difficult because of what they call traffic jams, I’ve never seen
anything like that. I finally arrived on Monday and the city has
changed so much, it’s not at all like my memories…
Some
strange people are dressed in yellow vests, they are all gathered,
and I sometimes had the feeling they were after me ! While I was
walking in these huge streets, I saw a monument that scared the
depths of my empty soul : this monument looks like a giant stake! So
I ran away of course, I looked at all the people and nobody was
looking at me, that was a little bit stressful because in my
memories, all the people were looking at me because of my appearance!
But today no one notices me because they are all on their phones! I
can’t understand why ! All these Parisians travel on electric
scooters; it is very dangerous ! They make almost no noise! And the
thing that frightened me the most was on Thursday, there was
a lot of people in the streets walking and shouting! They were all
angry because of pensions? I didn’t really understand what it was,
though…
But
I think Paris is cool, I really enjoy it even if people are
disturbing ! I miss you all so much...
Love,
XOXO

Dear
Anna,
How
are you? I sincerely hope that you are fine because I am not. As you
know, I’ve been staying in a family for a few months to take care
of their children. However, I’ve discovered something weird. I
believe that the father of the family, Pëter, is actually a vampire.
I
know how crazy this sounds. I can assure you that I am not crazy !
Yesterday, I found some blood drops on the floor of Pëter’s
bedroom. Furthermore, I’ve never seen him during daytime. Also, I
wanted to to cook some garlic sauce for dinner but I couldn’t find
garlic anywhere. When I asked them if I could buy some, Pëter
shouted “No! Don’t you do that !”
I
am scared, Anna.
I have to stay with them for another three months. I don’t know
what to do. Please, help me.
Love
